Re: Dubai world cup night
are you jokin mate? I know u like ballydoyle, so do i, but he has to learn and ADAPT during a race.
Great jockeys know how to switch tactics when races are not being run how they would like. So when it is being ran at that pace and he knows stamina wont be brought into play, he needs to go to the front or much nearer the front a lot earlier. Remember the coronation cup?? He ran the legs off the competition, yet tonight Joesph is sitting biting his nails behind a wall of four horses wondering what to do. I know this is a game of opinions, mine is that the best horse came 2nd.

Re: Dubai world cup night
yeh the winner is a great horse no question. Just disappointed st nic played catch up, off that slow pace he needed to make others play catch up, which they wouldn't have been able to do!!

even though the winner is high class No reason st nic should be any better than cirrus des aigles seeing as that horse has now won the champion stakes and the sheema classic, he might just have run into a very good horse

Re: Dubai world cup night
Yeah won't hear Monterosso being slated, very good horse. Would've won last year had it not been a farcical pace. O'Brien rode SYT as best he could.
But he was awful on SNA, fair enough riding to instruction but as someone said above, you need to adapt.

Re: Dubai world cup night
Fox Hunt and Bronze Cannon killed in the Gold Cup, not good at all. That turf course was definitely not "good" by any UK standard.

Indeed l think that was ground that needed watering to say the least, both horses big loss but Fox Hunt l honestly think we just lost Yeats replacement!! As much as he gets slated Barzalona attitude and style to me is needed more. Great jockey (ADMIT AT TIMES SHOCKER) and as he gets older he will learn. Very strange choices that frankie made today with his rides and does anyone else think it may be announced Barza will be Zaroonis number 1 and frankie will stop getting choice? Just seemed to me frankie was on Suroors when it clearly was the weaker horse
