Re: Test Matches or ODI's
I can't see why the Test playing nations and the T V are all geared to the ODI's Before the ODI's were a place to bring on young players with potential for later Test squads Now it seems it is a breeding ground for specialist Baseball type players, who don't posses the technique to build an innings, without trying to thrash the living daylights out of the ball.

Re: Test Matches or ODI's
All about the excitement and strategy of Test cricket for me! 5 days of pure endurance and concentration, it has to be the pinacle of every cricketers career surely? I don't see how people can call it boring to be honest, i love cricket and everything it brings!
Got tickets to the 4th day of the 3rd Ashes test at Old Trafford in the summer and i can't wait!!
ODI's used to be quite exciting but they've been ruined by T20 now because teams are scared to smash runs all over the place. and T20 is a joke isnt it?

Re: Test Matches or ODI's
Exactly That is the problem They build up T 20 as the future of the game No! it is only the future of the financial bankers Money has spoilt football, with the Champions league the root of all evil Cricket will follow if not checked

Re: Test Matches or ODI's
young kids now dream of the IPL and inter T20 and not the test arena which i find very sad
you just have to look at Chris Gayle a very talented cricketer who has no interest in test cricket his attitude towards it stinks and would prefer to pick up a couple of million then represent his nation unfortunatly its a thing of the future the KP debacle was all about money

Re: Test Matches or ODI's
Yeah they might as well get rid of ODI's because they are ruined by T20, there is no place for it in the calender now!

Re: Test Matches or ODI's
Yes I agree especially when there are series around that are best of seven which could end up with 2 or 3 dead rubbers They were better when there was 3 ODI's before the Tests as a warm up for better things to come

Re: Test Matches or ODI's
It also means teams have to send different squads for the different games...used to be a test squad and ODI squad, and a lot would mix
Now you have to send a T20 squad for maybe 1 or 2 games, a ODI squad for 5-6 games and a Test squad for 3-5 tests and they all consist of different players, different captains with different ideas!
Also now because of the T20 world cup, there is a busier calender so less tests are played....last year was the prime example, Eng v SA, best 2 teams in the world and how many tests did we play? 3? should have been a 5 match series with 1 T20 and 3 ODI's before or after!

Re: Test Matches or ODI's
Both have their place in my opinion. Love Tests, but also ODI's and T20's add a lot of excitement to the format. Ultimately though, if I was offered only to watch 1 format it would be tests.

Re: Test Matches or ODI's
if a gun was put to most fans head and they had to pick 2 out of 3 i think odi's would be the 1 left out
i love the idea of scrapping odi and have 2 innings 20/20 internationals
