Only problem has been slow scoring
I don't know if any time was lost but 350 a day should be the score to aim for
Bat till last session tomorrow if nearing 600

It is always a sign of a 'great team' scoring at 4 an over or more
That's why this England Team can unfortunately be only classed as a 'good' team

Good start, agreed. Hoping for 600 before a declaration myself, 2 days or 2 and a half shouldn't matter - plenty of time to play with still. Trott has been a machine today.

Jonathan Trott Over (177.5) 5/4 with Paddy Power

I'm tempted about a Pietersen century at 11/4 too.

Typical! Always a danger resuming on a big score the following day. Unlucky mate. England well on top though.

ya big pressure on last test now because England will lose major ranking points with a lost or drawn series so they must win last 1
New Zealand are to be respected at limited overs cricket but if we can't beat there test side in a 3 match series even considering
the weather that would be a poor tour

I think we under-estimated the NZ team in the first test, and were definitely under-cooked.
But you can't change the weather and the flatter than flat tracks. I'm still confident of a 1-0 series win
