I don't know why they split, must be because they want a spot on a rail as doubt the ground will have made much difference either way. But if they started on the stands side like they used to until a couple of years ago that would definitely reduce the chance of a split.

Re: Kingman or Toormore
The quickest ground was in the middle, so we were all baffled as to why they split too. The only explanation was that everyone wanted a bit of the rail. But it ruined the race in my opinion.

Re: Kingman or Toormore
All the other races went up the middle, it must have been for the rail. They should have kept the course at normal width and put the stalls on one side or the other. It's weird though some years they split some they don't, so who knows why it is? It does lead to an unsatisfactory race.

Johnny 16dar has been conspicuous in his absence from the post race discussion

Re: Kingman or Toormore
Shame they split but I stand by my assertion that the Greenham was a very strong renewal. No excuses for Kingman, best horse won on the day, and was well overpriced at 40/1 (staggering horses like Bookrunner and Ertijaal went off at shorter!!) Australia a worthy short priced fav for Derby now.

Well they went to Ireland, which i wrongly thought was too soon, and have now well and truly shown everyone who is boss over 1m. Another very exciting horse for Juddmonte.
Yes Bosra you were correct about the Greenham. Johnny "no idea" however......
