   |   Deterioration BarHi, I have had a few horses with a high deterioration bar and most other bars fine.
Should I sell those or keep and hope for the best?

What is your suggested sell point for this bar?

 Thanks Allan

   |   Re: Deterioration BarJust a quick reply as I gotta get into gear for work - Don't worry to much about that bar. Of course you like to see it small but it doesn't seem to affect good horses. If the horse's potential and speed are low or medium - sell it but if it has good potential and good speed....you should be alright Doug

   |   Re: Deterioration BarI would echo Doug's comments, is a nice to have for a longer career and for those you maybe want to try over hurdles or fences but even with full deterioration you should get top form at 2 and 3yo, and it is also not absolute, I have had full deteriorating horses still winning g1's at five, it seems to be just the potential to deteriorate.
I do try and avoid it in my breeding lines though or to breed it out if the horse has other desirable qualities.

 Thanks to both for advice.

NPG,Githy The horse in question is a 4yr old stallion, his Deteriation Potential bar is 100

 Potential rating = 80
 Battling Quality = 70
 Cruising burst =30
 Extra speed rating =95
 Finish application = 100

Thanks again guys for both replies

 Allan

   |   Re: Deterioration BarSounds decent, battling qualities makes him worth looking at for breeding, try and find something with similar and a little more crusing burst and low deterioration, make take a few generations to iron out the wrinkles.
