Just a suggestion to make it easier ot navigate.

On the Stable page, I'd like to see another column with maybe a check mark beside the horse's name that shows it will be running in the following week.

It's very hard to tell which horses are not entered in a race yet. A check mark or button would help to easily see which horses are not entered in a race for the coming week.

Unfortunately the stable page is already slow and the join required for this will create too much of a performance impact. At the bottom of the nominations page in a table with the heading Your current flat/nh nominations and contains a list of all your current entries which can be sorted. Is this not sufficient.

It is on the nominations page, which I thought was the correct place but I could add a similar table on the stable page underneath your current stable if you want

If you require a list of all horses that have no entries for this week that can be added on the nominations page as well, although it will take a while to render because of the performance hit it will take for this type of sql query

Just a few ideas for easier navigation:

On the Nominations page is there anyway to put a colour on the race links if we have a horse entered in the race already.
Makes it easier than having to go through every race.

Something like this or even a red hover over colour. You currently have a green mouse hover over on the links.




Also it would be really helpful to only see your horses that are eligible for races within the 3f distance in the race nominations section.
Sure would help people with nominations and would stop people from running the wrong horse or trying to gain a mark for a horse over the wrong trip.

If this is not possible then why not add a few sort boxes for distance and status of horse ( Novice or Open).
Would be handy to sort horses by distance. That way you don't have to go through the whole list of horses to find your 2 mile runners etc.

You could just click on distance and bring up the shortest or longest trips and the same for novices and open status horses.
Last season novices could run in low grade handicaps from what I remember once they had a few runs. Would be handy if thats the case again this year.
Plus Bumper horses are also novices this season.

The green is pure CSS and I only have race details so will take to long too load too add more data as it would require a table join and the CSS has no link to any data. I can look at displaying a list of races with entries underneath the nomination races


The extra data and filter is no problem I can do that tonight will only take a few minutes to implement as the data is already there. Although novices and open will only appear together on ungraded handicaps.

Thanks for suggestions I will implement what I can. Unfortunately because of the database design anything that bhas a long load time will have to be left out which is the main constraining factor.

The options I have looked at is to show all races that a horse is eligible for. That is a possibikty and allowing entries from the race cards page.

I have also experimented with showing more data for a race besides the distance but the display was bad.

The 3f is good but could be annoying if you have a horse like I had last season Waterloo sunset who was placed from 2m1 to 3m. There are no restrictions on non handicaps. I will put a column with the distances in tonight with a sort and filter

I have thought about this and can implement this by adding a column to the horse table which indicates the next week they have an entry. It is a good idea just took a while to figure out a way to do. It will be a new feature from tonight if all goes well

I have implemented this. You will now either have a blue button which means a horse is available for entries or the next week the horse has an entry for.

Unfortunately I can't make it compatible with current entries so people will only see the full effects from next week or if you have no entries for this week it will work.

So form next week it will be accurate but this week it will still have the wrong data until after the races are processed, or a horse gets removed or newly entered in a race then the data will update

Suggestion 1 would be a Hall of Fame page. For past great horses. Either by ratings or money earned.

Suggestion 2 would be a achievement banner just like in the game. Which might keep players playing thru years just to try and get all the achievements.

Thanks achievements is a good idea and can easily be implemented. Hall of Fame is already in the bucket list of improvements for next season. I have the data for the previous 4 seasons from when I started working on TOM, so loads of data.
