By the time Phillipa's jockey decided to make a move, it was too late. When I replayed the race, it looked like Juniper Maid may have given Phillipa a little bump at the 3f marker, so maybe this infuenced the jockey.

A few friends of mine are paying Mr Hawkins a visit and lets just say he will be sleeping with the fishes tonight its just business you understand

   |   Re: Weekly ReactionOnly one winner today but that was by the queen of my flat team Coigach, will probably put away now until next season. She comes alive as a 5yo and will run in all the top races next season. I'm glad now I put her in my team as a 4yo.

   |   Re: Weekly ReactionI just want to say how much everything you have all been doing for the league has been very greatly appreciated by the Charlie stable, I have had a whole lot of fun participating from day 1...it is with a heavy heart though that i am announcing my retirement for this season, real life has unfortunately caught up with me, work commitments and a few other personal things leave me with no time to study where to put my nags now, i will still be popping on the forum and keeping up with whats going one with you guys but i just cant concentrate enough to take part, i apologize for not giving you all any more laughs with Last Ben, but i will be back hopefully for the next season. Good luck to you all and have lots of fun

   |   Re: Weekly ReactionJust watched the livestream. Great work Gray and excellent comms by Doug.
 A very solid opening day at the festival, 3 x 2nds, 2 x 3rds and 1 x 4th

I spent all last week in the garden shed with my home chemistry set and mixed up a couple of new concoctions. ( Totally undetectable by the stewards )

The first was pheno-speedplus sulphate. Been slipping it into the horses feed and it nearly worked. Will up the required dosage for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The second concoction was nitro-slowdown bromate. I took a trip to Wales, Ireland and Canada this week with this concoction, but I must have got the two mixed up as John managed 4 winners, well done John.

If anybody wants some of these concoctions, send a stamped address envolope plus a 50p cheque, ( helps pay for new chemistry set ), to Horse Doctor, Dundonald Stud, Scotland.

They say it always rains in wales well I made the clouds go to Cheltenham this week. My best ever day at the festival was because of the soft ground. I know u said to give it to my horses but I drank it, no wonder it took me a hour to get out of bed ( it could be just old age). A great job by everyone to make that happen tonight. See u all tomorrow night, after a few beers( vodkas more like) first.

   |   Re: Weekly ReactionJohn I didn't tell you about the side effects of the nitro-slowdown bromate.
 It turns stallions into geldings.

I hope you didn't take too much of it.

As for age, you are just a young whippersnapper compared to me. I am so old that I need to take an afternoon nap each day.

   |   Re: Weekly ReactionJapan Andiamo gave me my best thrill in the hunt today by finishing a close up 3rd - obviously got in on the weights but that's how my stable rolls Earlier in the season, Heather Mix ran a close third as well but she's a game bred horse aimed at the Grand National but Japan Andiamo is pure home bred so a much bigger and satisfying thrill. Congrats to Vinny Gerrard on getting a Group One on the flat in an exciting finish. The first days racing had it all in spades - I think it is the best days racing I have called so far!
