When I look at the original schedules, I notice that all the prep races are from the current calendar year as opposed to the season. Is there a game killing reason for this or is it just a coincidence? For example, if I want to use the King George as a prep race for the Gold Cup or if I want a season long series of qualifiers (Pertemps/Veterans), am I restricted to the calendar year?

(If so then the Veterans series would be a pain in the arse!)

I see the Irish National can be used as a Grand National prep but what about a UK for IRE prep/IRE for IRE/FR for FR/IRE for FR?
