So I just started playing the game Rolling Eyes and I'm arrogant enough to think that you care what I say Laughing

First impressions weren't great, I don't like change but I have to say I am really getting into it now. The graphics are excellent, it's not something I care about in the slightest, my only quibble is that the horses look like they are dawdling. I'd really like to see them stretch for the line.

Race dynamics, it's still pretty similar to SO3 although practically EVERY single horse is fine to run "mid pack". I'm not sure how it's going to play out in the league but I foresee a lot of slowly run races and a boring winner with one horse jumping off the pack early and coasting home. Front running horses setting a strong pace are unfairly penalised in my opinion and if you don't have those then you don't have any closer horses in with a chance (no Zenyattas). Would be nice to see this tweaked or is it just me?

Not seen many obvious signs of the new traits, it's the kind of thing that becomes apparent when working at home so maybe a "hint" from the assistant trainer would be useful.

2yo auctions are finally useful Surprised Not sure if this is a oneoff but I picked up an Epsom Derby winner from the first 2yo auction. Then I accidentally gelded it...oops.

The Schedule creator is great but I cant seem to get it to work...

All in all a lot of fun. Good luck in the league everyone, I've only managed 2 seasons so there are only 10 uploads and I think they are terrible.

Laughing Laughing Laughing loved reading your post anubisrich, and about you gelding your horse by accident, why if you didn't geld it, the head lad would have suggested it so don't be to sad about it mate, good luck with you lot and wish you all the best, in the league.

I agree with you about the front runners been too heavely penalised. After extensively trialing my horses only very occasionaly would one of my front runners just hold on. Also noticed when good horses hit the front a little early they are usually just sitting ducks. Think it`s a bit late for a tweak though with the league just about to start.

As for the new traits, the right or left hand preference in my opinion is a usually a negative and I`ve not seen any great improvement in a horse when it says dirt tracks would suit. The assistant trainer usually does mention dirt anyway and will say if the horse has a right or left hand preference after a jockey feedback mentions it.

Good luck in the league yourself.

I also cannot win the Arc....that one I err accidentally gelded has won all the big classic races except the Arc where he dribbled in a lamentable 8th.

I've run the league races and I have to say there were no instances of too slow a pace. There are a couple of trainers who have risen to the top, unusual ones in that mix...the draw is still absolutely key!

There were many instances you described dragontrainer with one horse trying to jump away from the front early. It might work on turf but on dirt they were literally dying feet from the line. Very exciting finishes.

i have a horse who is 25//25 in her career, and in the race builder she runs consistently well at each age. I just dont know whether to be excited about her for the league or whether im just gunna have a stable of no hopers. my game is on auto training and on easy as was new to game, but now 40seasons in. just dont know if theres any way to tell if she is gunna be good?!
dont know what ill do if all my stable are no hopers, guess id have to think bout starting again

I'm a newbie to the league myself. I have played Starters Orders since version 2 but never thought about entering the league. From what I've read about it, it seems that most of it is pot luck as horses that do well in the game often fall short in the league. I reckon the only way to go about it is to find some horses that break track records after a good few seasons. I dont think wins in Group 1 races have a big impact!
