Post Annoying mares!
Has anyone else experienced problems with fillies in partiular whereby...

They are bred and are good for 1m4 - 1m5

Progress them up to 1m4 in time for the Oaks, and they win..beautiful...next up irish oaks and another win, double beautiful....next up perhaps Yorkshire oaks (or any other 1m4 group 1), fillie finishes 10th for example, same jockey that has ridden her for her double oaks then says she could do with a furlong less...at this point i ask myself whats the point in keeping her in training there are few if any group ones at 1m3 and by the point the horse is rated to highly for handicaps......and the remaining 1m3 races she runs in dont reflect her oaks form anyway.

Any advice for this?

Is it a bug?

Cheers

I saw the thread title and assumed this would be about women. A bit of an anti climax when it's about horses!

Agreed, I'd have a lot more to contribute if it were about women. I have recently acquired a stalker. Female, obviously.

Not necessarily obviously, in these enlightened, free thinking days it could have been someone of the same sex who had taken such an interest in you.

True, I merely stated it to be obvious in the context of this thread :D

Have had this happen, not just over 1m4f and not only with mares.
It could be the jockey talking rubbish as usual or the 3yos that season are under par or something like the course/going preferences.

Personaly I ignore the jockey and continue with my original plans then send them to the barn to breed with those stallions that needed a little further hoping to breed horses who are real 1m4f or 1m etc..

this usually happens with oaks winners i find because of the 4 fourlongs downhill at epsom means that the quicker horses 1m2f, 1m3f horses can stay longer and end up winning

Had this once or twice, similar with the odd Guineas winner, both sexes. Sometimes the horse has just gone over the top come the second half of the season, sometimes the horse progressed early against weak classic opposition but mostly I have found it's down to the fact that in races like the Yorkshire Oaks they have to step out of their own age range in top company for the first time and they simply aren't up to it. When gathering horses for the league, I noticed that out of countless wide margin Derby winners, next to none were capable of making any real impact in the King George, yet switch assignments to the Juddmonte Grand Prix and most won.

ive seen this many time too ive won the oaks 16 times out of 22 years and once doing the double oaks can win the shegar cup then the horse becomes nothing special and dosnt win any cup races after that ive seen it win the derby side two maybe its an issue with the game

Take note of Dancing Braves post, pretty much sums it up. When you get beat by older opposition don`t give up wait till next season before choosing the fate of the horse. I`ve had a few who turn the tables as older horses. That`s when I know I have a good`un or at least a decent one to breed from.

hey dragon i see what you mean the 3 year olds arnt very good against the older horses, but ive keep some of mine up to 6 or seven and they have won no cup races since winning the oaks or derby they are really good at two and three they just seem to give up even if put down in distance.just end up sending them to the barn
