Post Horse Exchange - [New Horses!]
PLEASE NOTE: Any horses bred from a file-shared horse cannot be used in the league, as it is against league rules (this can be detected)! Horses in this thread are only to be used for personal games, not for league-breeding purposes.

PACKS

Pjrhodes Pack - Download
Image Highlights: Missile, Hemmingway, Aferd
Includes 8 G1 winning stallions, and four classy mares.
Won: 115 G1s between them!

To Install: Just unzip the file with winzip/rar, and change the numbers in the file names, ie; 4.sav to a save slot in your game that is not being used, then paste the files into your My Documents > StartersOrders5 > saves folder. Then, when you open up SO5 you should be able to load the new save game, progress to the end of the season and your new horse will be retired to your game pool, ready to be imported into your own save game.

If you want to offer a horse of your own for download, just make sure you're using the default SO5 schedule. Also, to make it easy for the person downloading, you can progress to near the end of the season and have 'Retire to game pool' already selected for them.

Sharing Instructions:
1. Retire horse to game pool.
2. Start a new game using the default SO5 schedule.
3. Import the horse into the new game. Save game.
4. Go to My Documents > StartersOrders5 > Saves and highlight the .sav ext.sav ln.idx o.idx that correspond with that save game (so if you started the new game in slot 4, then the files you need to highlight would be 4.sav ext4.sav ln4.idx and o4.idx)
5. Once they're highlighted, right click on one of them and click Add to "saves.rar" (if you have Winrar - I think it should be similar if you use Winzip). It should make a Winrar or Winzip file, containing all four save files/
6. Upload that Winrar/zip to a filehosting site like Mediafire.com and post the link to it here.

We're running short of mares at the moment, so if anyone's willing to share some decent ones? :)

Sorry, yes default's fine, same thing as vanilla, that's just what I call it, lol :)

Edi: oh, also it only matters if you're offering a horse for download what schedule you use, doesn't matter if you're the one downloading a horse, if that makes sense.

If any of you guys are planning on playing the game for the forthcoming online league, then file sharing isn't allowed and can be detected.

just a warning if you do this

any horses bred with this horse will be thrown out of the league

its fine for fun but if you are considering entering the lge there are detection software to stop people swapping horses

happened this season too

Oh really? I didn't know about that rule. Hm. I'll put a warning in the first post so people know that. That's a pain. :?

I'm probably being really blonde, but why is it against the rules to swap horses? People who don't want to do so don't have to, but those that do, can. Like I said, I'm probably missing a really obvious point here!

There was a big hoohah with trainers sending their best horses to each other to breed with obviously to make better horses and making it unfair on others who didn't, I can see the appeal of doing it from a point of view, but it is unfair in a league situation and takes away the feeling of winning by off your own back and the achievement of your horse beating everyone else's. If your not planning on using any of those horses in the league then by all means it's a great idea especially to help those that are struggling to get off their feet in the game.

Ah, that makes sense, if they were doing it in private without allowing anyone else the chance to use their horses. Thanks for explaining, Nick :)

And Cotch, I think it's only horses with this one (or any file-shared horse) in their pedigree. Just having a shared horse in your game shouldn't affect anything.

Any horses that come out of Sabella would not be ok because it would show in the lineage.
Lets say you have a colt and name it Danger, from yours and sebellas horse

Danger would have another players horse in its lineages so is not ok for league, then dangers foals would not be ok and so on.
