Post Help with my Jumps game please?
Now i've been playing a fair bit over the last week and my flat team are much improved and I think(hope) they are good enough for a decent handicap or two or the season. So onto a jumps game now and this is where I struggle. I find the flat easy, you just breed and breed and breed some more then run the horses in the game and ck and hey presto its easy.

I've played through a few seasons and have imported some flat horses after trialing them all at Cheltenham. They were all very, very good and destroyed the opposition at Cheltenham over hurdles. Now this is where my problem begins. How do I know if a horse is a better hurdler or chaser? I know we have the jump stats and so far I've played that if the jumps safely bar is low they stick to hurdles and I school them once a month over fences to see if it improves, dont know if this has any effect? I also export and stick them over fences to test them out as well.

So thats my question really. How do I work out if my horse is a hurdler or chaser? Any help appreciated but not just on that one question, if you have anything else useful then please do add it. I probably seem like a bit of a n00b, well I am when it comes to the jumps game!

I would suggest putting your best jumpers into chases as the fences (big bushes known as bullfinches) are much higher and testing than in hurdling.

Obviously use the the Jump rating as a guildline but I found having no less than half rating for Chases worked.

The jump potential increases as the horse ages so keep this in mind. I found that starting out some of my horses as hudlers for a year then switch them to chasing helped once the jump ratings increased.

Having a high jump speed is very nice as it can make the difference between winning and losing on the final fence/hurdle.

Yeah I follow racing daily I know what fences are! But thanks for your advice. Just trialed one of my bumper horses on the flat and he's now my best horse at 10 and 12f. Its good but not quite what I wanted!

Just found a stallion from the flat with VERY good jumps stats and also the training adaption bar is full. Lets hope he can breed me some chasers.

Hehe wasn't saying you didn't know mate, but I would imagine some people may not know the difference if they search for help on a similar topic in the future :)
