Post Flat Rules
It will be a good idea to have some cast iron flat rules for the second season. Hopefully this will prevent some of last seasons problems/disputes recurring.

*Distance rules

*Handicap rules, will horses need x amount of runs before entering a handicap? And on from that G1 handicaps. It was suggested a horse ran three times, two of those handicaps runs, before entering a G1 handicap.

*Runners in group races

*Handicaps with maximum entries

*Double entry races. Cesarewitch?

Good luck all.

Another problem I have is that I cant remember what horses names I used last season, what if by accident we call a horse the same name as we used last year.

Horse with same names will not be possible unless its one year older than one you used last year as you won't be able to upload the horse

The flat rules are the same except for distance races where if a horse's best run is 2 miles or more it can enter any handicap from 2 miles and upwards.

If you can't enter a horse then its not eligible. Pretty simple really.

NH rules are the same with regards distances.

Novices need to now be selected at the start of the season. They will remain novices for the whole season

So there are no new rules regarding G1 handicaps?

Would it also be an idea to list a maximum field size for some of the races? Chester Cup and Ebor are two that spring to mind.

Can the final rules be made a sticky for all trainers to see?

Thanks, Paul. But I think Jamie or Leon need to make the final flat rules list and then that should be stickied. That wasn't done last year and I feel it is very important it is sorted for this one.

I doubt I'll enter still. Though Joe quitting makes it more likely.
