Swain Song looked all over the winner in the bumper but the jockey dropped his hands and got beat by a short head. What was he thinking haha. Not a bad day on the flat either. 2 winners, a 2nd and also the 4th in the Derby. Thought it was the worse ride of the season mate you should have won

cheers guys have fun Oh Man I only wish i had some of the quality you have at your disposal I have probably spent as long as anyone on my flat Team and my horses are barely average I have no stable star and will struggle to win a Group One this year. BUT Im delighted for James clearly he has put alot of time in and planned his breeding operation incredibility well, alot better then i did. Im delighted for him and I am happy to get what ever comes along my way I take great enjoyment from my Victories as they have been hard earned but also have the capacity to be happy for others. in life sometimes there is just simply someone better and you have to accept it. In my case 5 or 6 better I just think you need to act graciously in Victory and more importantly in defeat. To just give up is Madness IMO with the amount of time put in My moto is never ever give up the worst thing anyone can do.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Justonefortheroad was frustrating in the cross country; falling close home when still in contention and running his best race of the season thus far.
The Riffbird is a couple more bad runs away from being retired....
Aztec Warrior ran a screamer in the Timeform chase, looking like breaking my maiden tag on my birthday no less, when leading over the second last! Just didn't get home over 3, 4, however proved he can be competitive in the league. Really chuffed with that run.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Wow thanks guys! Never thought I would get an Oaks/Derby double in a Starters Orders league. Just checked TOM and last season I only managed 1 win in the whole flat season. Congrats to all the winners and placers. Also the handicappers are doing a great job, each week the handicaps are getting closer and closer. jalupen wrote: well done james very nice treble

cheers guys have fun Don't quit. You still have the best win % in the league now John has left. If you quit too the Group races will be less competitive. I think you have the best horses in the league overall and it would be a shame if you stopped.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Flat:How the other half live: Race 01: KAHFRE: 20/20 Well beaten in all four starts to date. Target is the William Hill Mile Championship Leg 3 @ Kempton in Week 9. Race 02: MISTER McGOLDRICK: 2/9 Might have to rethink the route for this one after a career best second this week. Better at slightly shorter distances in the game. Dictates from the front and could pinch a race if given enough rope. Target is the Campbell Handicap @ Ayr in Week 10. Race 03: EMPEROR: 9/10 Running poorly over optimum conditions although it is early days. Will need further help from the handicapper. Target is the UBS Goodwood Stakes @ Goodwood in Week 8. Race 04: UNIVERSAL BIRTH: 11/15 Rated too high after maiden run @ 91. Slipping to decent mark after this performance. Target is the Coral Handicap Sprint @ Sandown in Week 7. Race 07: ZAFAONIC STAR: 21/22 Another of the handicappers that is slipping to a competitive mark. Should lose another few pounds after this performance. Target is the Download Racing Post Handicap @ Doncaster in week 11. National HuntNone of my runners have an earthly chance of winning due to open handicaps. If there were races such 0-110 or 0-100 handicaps in the schedule my stable would be competitive. Oh well! I can only dream.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Race of the year nominee - Race 13 The Ascot Hurdle. One of the best races I have ever seen in all of Starters Orders. My horse (Dens World) enjoyed an easy lead for the first half. Then with 6 furlongs left Diamond Great flashes to a huge lead over Dens World still in second. Then with 4 furlongs left Limini flashes to a big lead. Dens World goes back to third. Then Dens World, Cats Quick Draw and Diamond Great re-rally in the final half furlong to draw even with Limini. At the wire and surging big time time around all of the above horses Ciudad Real gets his nose up to beat them all.
I was yelling my horse on and at the wire I was calling "I got it!". Photo comes up and Dens World just missed out. The call with the race was perfect. Great job on that.
On the flat I collected another winner on Monday that was also in a very exciting race. A group placing and the rest also rans.
I followed the big run in the Ascot by winning the next race with Word Perfect whom I thought was talented enough to be a winner. That's my first jumps win this season which means I am well on my way to winning the dual championship.
Edit - I called the race the Ascot Chase but it's the Ascot Hurdle.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
The finish in the Grade 2 Hurdle was a cracker too. It looked like my horse More of That was done on the line, even the commentator thought it but he somehow won. He's won 3 races now and the World Hurdle is the main target.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
Only 3 runners today, with a 3rd, 6th and a 9th.
The best run came from Treasure Chest in the G2 3 mile hurdle. Wasn't expecting much but finished strongly from a long way back, never had the pace of the first two home.
I was wondering, do you give any special instructions to your horses? The reason I ask is that in many races my horses run along in the middle of the pack at an even pace, but with about 3 or 4 furlongs to go they seem to fall behind when other horses make a move, then my horses have too much to do. Maybe my horses are just not good enough.

 Re: League Weekly reaction
UKRA I Love Ze Lawnmower what a Brave horse he is he gives weight away all around for the 3rd week in a row & as like the last 3 weeks tries to make all and JUST gets beat he is a little star another group place for him his form reads 5,1,2,2,2

Chandler Bing ran well off top weight and was an worthy 2nd in R17 Esher Stakes
NHC Cross Girl been banging on the door all season and has finally WON the Amlin 1965 Chase and what aperformance from her she scooted clear by over 4 lengths really pleased with her
River Donn another who has gone close all season and today WON The Worcester Novices' Chase G2 in impressive fashion delighted with him
And plenty of nice placers today too
An Impressive Grade 2 double today also Thats now 12 out of 30 Individual Jumps Race Winners for me and the jumps team have 4 Individual Graded winners so all is going well
Well done all the winners and placers thanks to the team and hanicappers
Great Comms Boyz you all sound like pro's I personally think even better then most of the TV commentators and that the biggest compliment i can give
