Comms for WEEK 11 + Aintree GN comms.
Hi all. First up a show of hands for who is available for comms this week/end. A second showing of hands needed for who wants to participate in a group calling of the Grand National? As mentioned in another thread, the GN will be - (fences) 30 divided by X callers = ? Stop your call approx. half way between your last fence and the first fence for the next caller and jot down the time you stop your call. Then email your audio and stop time to Gray This should be Ben Hur HUGE........or bigger than biggest thing you can think of

Re: Comms for WEEK 11 + Aintree GN comms.
I'll be free to do calls this weekend. I'll do Day 2 &3 flat (unless someone wants to jump in and do some calls those days... If so, then I want to call Lingfield, but the others would be free to pick from).
And I'll be participating in the GN call.
Hopefully I'll have some more runaway winners this week. All these close finishes don't let me come up with creative calls for the finish.

I'll do 5 NH races on Wed and the National. You can pick which ones.

Re: Comms for WEEK 11 + Aintree GN comms.
Gray, here's the link from the GN exhibition race earlier in the year for reference https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nIaznD ... e=youtu.beFrom the race start (1.05) and two mins into the race (3.05) pretty much landed you at Foinavon which will give you seven fences. If it stays at four callers then I propose two callers do seven fences and the other two, eight fences. If Marty or Steve are available then six fences each or five fences each. I like the idea of you starting the call, Gray. You will give good insight to the runners backgrounds before the off and set the scene nicely for the rest of us Maybe turn the volume down on the exhibition race and just get a feel of 40 horse names bouncing around during that first two mins of the race.

Gray Sounds good, Gray. Do you know what jump that takes you too? Is it Foinavon?

I can do my lot this morning. Am I doing 7 or 8 fences in the middle?

Re: Comms for WEEK 11 + Aintree GN comms.
Mike - You start just before the water jump and down to and including Foinavon - then I'll call from somewhere before the Canal jump to the finish. Drop a note in here when you have finished your section. Thanks
