6th winner of the season with Tobago mugging Sirius' horse at the line.

Not as many winners this year and somewhat off my target of 15. Delighted Tobago breaks her maiden tag after almost 2 full seasons.

Great to see Doug get off the mark!

Yea! :D Picked up 2nd win on the flat, a DH with Dirty Prawn in only its 2nd Race.

Still cant get that NH win, very close in a handicap this week with Bright Mask, who picked up 2nd my fourth 2nd in the code so far, it can't be too far away...can it ?

As always big thanks to all who participated & the guys who make it all possible.

Post Re: Weekly Reaction
All kinds of ugly on display from my team today, and a quick glance at the race cards for tomorrow does not inspire confidence.

Flat

Hugh Jengine - 5th struggled for room at the close, ran on well enough

Storm Rising - 10th not a G1 horse, just out for a run

Breaking Glass - 2nd nearly repeated last weeks heroics, ran on strongly but there was no catching Monte Carmelo today

Closing Gap - 14th faded away, no clear reason as to why

Sweet Temptation - 19th know he is no G2 horse but 9l's adrift from 18th I did not expect

High Tide - 4th left it all too late today

Jump

Affairs of State - Fell

Cap Gemini - 11th needs to stay with the 4yo's I think, top weight also always kills

Xternal - 16th never in it

Rabbling Rebel - 8th too much weight to ability in the ratio today

Casual Mist - 8th not sure what I was really thinking here, 3m hurdler gets a chase mark about all really

The Tortoise - 12th should have stuck to fences

Eye of the Storm - 4th 2f too far and a lot of lead on board. Have grown to dislike this horse intently :)

Barking - 14th that was just plain ugly, sums up my week so far

Post Re: Weekly Reaction
Tuesday came and went with little to write home about.

Two minor placings on the flat and three minor placings over jumps.

I entered many of my horses in handicaps knowing they would be carrying a lot of weight, but hoping for the best, but it was a good day for many of the lesser horses carrying less weight.

Congrats to all the winners and great comms as usual.

Well I got a nice 3rd in the Hunt AND finally cracked my first win of the season with Noverre Koo!
I was quite confident when I saw it drew the inside box and then very nervous at the furlong pole as most of my stable start dropping off at this stage but The Koo held on and lucky I had no customers in my shop so I could cheer it home :-)
Just gotta click on my name/stable in TOM to see how frustrating this season has been for me compared to last season.

Congrats Sir Doug
hope you get more winners and places { only on the flat thou lol }

That was the last race I ran and about 10mins after I wished u well on Friday.

No winners over jumps today but two nice winners on the flat.

Lochsong 1st, just had a incredible season.
Lime Gardens 1st, been close a couple of times so it was nice to see her win.

Would you believe just before the mugging I yelled a triumphant "Yes!" in anticipation of victory? Then I got jacked up. ...then I yelled "Damn you Follis!". You probably heard me.

I put very little effort into jumps horses but the horses I have are from decent pool horses. I can usually score some handicaps and an odd feature here and there with a few horses that stand out. Most are just garbage. Trying to find the right distance and style (hurdle/chase) for my horses is challenging.

Wow what can i say never had so much fun watching my horse Oscar in the 4m 4f chase today, Didn't think he had much hope until he kicked 5-6 lengths clear 6f out eventually got collared in the final 2f but still jumped big and managed to only finish around 2 lengths 4th behind the winner. Hopefully i can get him in the National :D

What a turnaround for the stable on Wednesday after a mediocre Monday and Tuesday.

Flat

Filament Girl ran a gallant race to be beaten into 2nd place by a short head in the Betfred Bonus King Handicap.

Fibre Optic was 3rd in the William Hill Great St Wilfred. Took the lead with a furlong to go, but was run down quite easily by the winner.

Elbourne Girl was 2nd in the Betdaq AW 2yo Championship. She has shown no form all season, so this good run was unexpected.

Jumps

A superb day over the jumps with 4 winners.

Regal Prince was 1st in the Game Spirit G2 Chase. He showed good form to finish 2nd in his opening maiden chase, but absolutely nothing since while running in group races, so was not really expecting him to win. What a cracking last furlong he ran to win quite comfortably.

Death Star was 1st in the Betfair Handicap Chase. He started as favourite and did not disapoint. He took the lead with 3f to go and never looked like being headed.

Rumbledown Lad was 1st in the Surrey National Handicap. Another unexpected winner. He did have a 4th place in a Moores Millions race, but his form before and after that race usually saw him finish well down the field.

Juniper Maid was 1st in the Winter Bumper race. This had to be the race of the day for my stable beating Phillipa Vayle who was so impressive in her previous 3 runs. This is Juniper Maids second bumper win of the season and she has been there or there abouts in her other races.

I think Paul should sack Phillipa's jockey as he had a terrible ride, getting boxed in on the rails in the middle part of the race and then with 3f to go he just stopped riding Phillipa as Juniper Maid was starting to sprint for home. By the time Phillipa's jockey decided to make a move, it was too late. When I replayed the race, it looked like Juniper Maid may have given Phillipa a little bump at the 3f marker, so maybe this infuenced the jockey.

Great comms as usual guys. You add the final professional touch to the races and really give the races a great atmosphere.

Finally, congrats to all the winners and placers.

3 winners over the sticks today

Flashback Friday
Flashback Friday bagged her 2nd win of the season winning the National Spirit Hurdle
G2 and did it impressively id say its the mares Hurdle next for her.

Jenny Bond
The Minx Gets off the mark at last and what a brave effort made all fluffed the last came back
and held on I have a tough choice now who to send to the RSA its between her and
Wolfetone I think after today Jenny has earned her place.

Cappa Chino
Another one to get off the Mark at last winning the Moores Millions Stayers (Leg 13) my
aim is to have fun with him to get him Rated as high as possible before the national he
is rated 142 but Grand National No1 Lagos Coffee is rated 114. The National Coup is
on
if she can stay upright.  Cappa Chino is my 21st Individual race winner over the sticks
out of 35 horses to represent the yard.

Taking nothing away from the winner but I was truly Gutted that Phillipa Vayle lost
her unbeaten record  was a very very poor ride by a
jockey I have never heard of (G  Hawkins) i was screaming at the screen take it up you idiot there
was no pace and she can run from the front I was stone mad but thats racing for you but thats come at
a cost to me as i have lumps of hair now missing from my head it was a shocker

to end on a positive note when ever the lads chat to a trainer or about a horse it/they seems to win
within 2 weeks and The Cougar Jenny Bond obliged today

Congratulations to the winners and placers
thanks to the team
great comms as always
