Now that the field is set has anyone been plotting for this race. Has any horse been hiding under a bush !

Doug and me are going through every horses form and will be recording a horse by horse spotlight as a lead in to the race. So if there is one we should spot it !!

Review shows are a little late this week (blame Black Sabbath) but are uploading to dropbox now so hopefully Gray will get them ok and be able to get them out over the weekend

Has anyone got a horse returning for another crack? I know Tappanappa raced last year but was a non runner.

My horse Ukraine finished 4th last season but hasn't shown much form this time so maybe too old now.

Been holding back Lagos Coffee been tough not being able to race
her she won last time out & has had 5 starts but has fallen twice and could
do again in the National if she stays upright she will have a decent chance
She ran well in the Scottish Borders National finishing 5th the 40% fall rate
is my biggest concern.

I think the only other horse to race was Dubawi Sound who finished 7th for Darren.

It really is a lottery and I don't think u can be to old for this race. Good Luck James.

I've got to admit I never plan for this race ( 50% of the horses wont finish), my aim going into the season is to have my best horse run in the Group1 at cheltenham and see after what my 2 horses h'cap mark, was going to put present abbey in at the last moment( thinking about it all day in work) but got home and changed my mind. It would have ruined the race because just about every horse would have been running out of the h'cap.

I had 2 runners so I removed Winewize which had a higher rating but is slower than Crest of Thorns so I thought each trainer has 1 entry priority over others who has 2 entries?

If this is not how this is run then I'd like to enter Winewize instead. But I thought priority goes for at least 1 entry from each trainer.

I Just thought another trainer took a horse out Thunderspark you want Crest Of Thorns To Run I will add it that means Haarth Sovereign will be cut

If there are no more room and I'm allowed only 1 then I want Crest of Thorns. If that is not possible then Winewize.

If I'm allowed 2 entries then even better.

This is interesting - if Thunder only enters 1 horse (Crest of Thorns) then that horse should run regardless of weight, rating or age. Any horses that should be cut should be cut from the second enties from all the stables.

Maybe in future (if possible) we should have a first round of entries where every trainer enters their number one entry. Then with the second round of entries this is the group of horses we take the cut from.

Hi yes Tappanappa was entered last years national but me being stupid ddnt know he had to run so many times before the national
Ukraine has a very nice weight for this race imo 10yo are the best age in national so good luck
