....just to get my tuppence worth in....it don't matter to me which group winners run in the same races as mine i'll do just as bad with my dopey pacemakers

Paul you should enter any race that any of yours qualify for if its what you want - its hard to give an opinion against a handicapper but i believe in this case he is wrong to ask for removal in such a way, sorry mr chill but just saying.

...and also, i do it the other way round, i enter horses that stand no chance in big group races, mainly because i like to set the pace, it's not about winning for me if it was i would leave the league now :)

Let's say for sake of argument that the horse "Rebound" was mine. My stable is the same middlin' stable but I have this one horse who is defying my usual middle to lower level training ability. I win a first week maiden "Comfortably". Then in week two I go for group 1 glory at Dubai (some of the biggest group 1's of the year and most aimed for)...and win that. I can guarantee you that in week three I would never consider double group class dropping my now undefeated group 1 winner into a group 3 race. A historically light on talent group 3 at that. A listed race? The thought would never cross my mind.

2 wins in the first 2 weeks is great. I don't need to double class drop my horse the very next week just because I can't find another more class suitable race. I pass this week and wait to see what's available for week 4. It's a 13 week season with a lot of opportunities to run.

This issue rarely occurs. Only twice have I made my opinion known on this and spoke up. It's a decency issue. There is an obvious disparity of talent between the very top trainers and the nearing the top trainers. The disparity between the very top and the rest is astronomical. To me it's the decent and honorable thing to not drop my undefeated group 1 winner into a group 3 the very next race after I won that group 1.

Honor and decency my fellow gentlemen/lady trainers. It's all I ask for.

I see another offender of this honor code that I seem to be the only one who adheres to but I will refrain from calling the trainer out considering all the controversy I've stirred.

Undefeated after 2 weeks group 1 winner dropping into a listed race from that group 1 win. I'm also looking at another in that race but he should get a pass because he had one bad group 1 race after winning three group 1's, a group 2, a listed and a maiden - in row - before that.

I guess it's all about the wins...

Yourself before the league. I get it.

A cheap 30k listed race is a big aim for your stable?

Pretty obnoxious response there ghost

Earnings so far this year and last for multiple group 1 winner coming off a close 4th in a group 1 spoiling his undefeated record and the undefeated last out group 1 winner against the previously mentioned horse whose trainers both have decided they should renew this rivalry dropping 3 class levels to a listed race the very next week.

Lochsong - 626500 / Trainer - 5695300 ~ 10 wins
Wiltshire Girl - 396000 / Trainer - 967900 ~ 5 wins

Today's Listed race purse 30k

18k to the winner?

Of the others

Count The Dots - 27000 / Trainer has 1 win
Cupids Arrow - 2300 / Trainer has 2 wins
Scooby Lass - 1200 / Trainer has 1 win this season
Kingbar - First Time Starter / Trainer has 0 wins

Not many entered in here because I suspect these beasts scared everyone away. They scared me away.

My last missive on this issue. There are other trainers in the league trying to win or just trying to get purse money. Can they have a chance too?

mr chill i think you need to just chill m8 its a game who cares if they don't win? seems only you by my reckoning. i have had 1 win in 2 weeks and i doubt i'll get any more before 5th week but i'm still happy and enjoying the whole thing, i get as much joy watching everyone else get their wins. please don't have that attitude about the top trainers, they deserve to be in the position they are in, perhaps if us less successful trainers work harder off-season or try different methods we can be where they are too :)

Oh I'm chill. I feel the need to speak out about this.

Looking at the schedule neither trainer thought the Group 3 Palace House was more suitable? The listed race was better. The crummy listed race others would love to win.

Show some class when entering is all I ask. They don't deserve top billing in my book if they raid easy races at the detriment of other trainers trying to score some coin. Your horses don't need to run every week.

Probably a good idea to exclude group 1 winners from listed races from next season. Quite easy for me to implement not even a line of code needed

Thing is with that Leon is I have no problem with a group 1 winner who hasn't had a group 1 win in say its last 3 to 5 starts starting in a listed race. It's these last out group 1 winners and these multiple group 1 winners with only 1 or 2 non winning performances in their last 1-3 races that offend me.

TBH I did have a sticky beak into that race when I was doing my noms - to see if I could sneak one under the radar - and saw your beastie and quietly left the room like a church mouse lol
I then put my horse into the race it should be in :)

In saying that I do agree with Leon that G1 winners should be ineligible from Listed races next season - especially if it's an easy fix for him to do.

It's you that needs to show some class. A man with class would never ask someone to not compete just so they could win. They would want to win on their own merit.

You want to win some money, well so do I. My goal is to get some reward for all the effort I put into my breeding program. I want to finish as high up the trainers championship as I can and every penny I can earn brings me closer to that goal.

I have no problem with this idea, but where do you draw the line.

A horse that finishes 2nd by a sht-hd in a G1 is going to win Listed races.

I am sure that a horse who wins a G2 race will stand a great chance in a listed race.

The next step is to ban all horses who finish in the top 5 in any group race from listed races.

What you are going to end up with are conditions races.

U keep coming up with these facts but u are slightly not telling the truth, look again in that group3 u will see my best sprinter Belle and I cant run two in the same race plus as I told u last season I will tell u again, what a horse did last year is gone and in my books doesn't count and so just as u picked me up last year and I said I wanted to win a race with my horse i'll tell u again the same thing, it's my job to win a race with my horses and if lochsong is now only listed/group3 class this year that's where she will be running and if she runs poorly this weekend then she will be retired. This will be my last season with a flat team so u wont be able to do the same next year.

I don't think we need to alter listed races in the schedule already I can look through the Racing program and find races in the UK and Aboard and add some new listed races that will be added to bonus Races and Have Listed races with Max Ratings some at 110 and some at 100 that way a horse would work its way up the ratings winning a listed race of 98 can then enter another listed race has it would be in the 100's.
