Didn't say you were going to win 29.... but I imagine you'll get more than 1 winner you pessimist

You've even got a 164 chaser running in a hurdle, you must be soooo spoilt for choice

Post Re: Cheltenham Festival Discussion
Here is the rundown on my plodders this year

Coral Cup - Bosbury - Only rated 70 but is a winner this year. Miles out of the handicap and making up the numbers
National Hunt Chase - Elfburg - Won a maiden handicap last time but this is much hotter. Good ground helps though
Fred Winter - Alan Jones - Early season winner who is on a good mark and ground suits perfectly. Best chance of the week
Pertemps - Sutton - Qualified with a 2nd but needs more cut in the ground and is outside of the handicap
Stable Plate Handicap - Lauda - Will struggle in this class
Kim Muir - Fittipaldi - Been knocking on the door a lot this season. Good weight and likes Cheltenham. EW chance
County Hurdle - Schumacher - Out of the handicap but is the sort to spring a surprise and can outrun odds
Gold Cup - Ashton - Stable superstar who won 3 handicaps on the bounce before a creditable 3rd in the Bobbyjo Chase. Trip and the hill may find him but has to take his chance in the big one
Martin Pipe - Tribago - Needs to improve but can do it here. Outside chance
Paul Moores - Costa Shot - Heavy ground speicalist and is likely to be one to be pulled up

Only 10 runners this year as many will avoid the festival for the more lowly races of the week.

Best of luck to all with runners at Cheltenham

I've got 15 runners for the festival.

Here are the runners and riders for the John Morgan stable.

Race=1= Edelweis Du Moulin- Gets his ground but didn't win early in the season and needs to improve EW chance.
Race=2=Josefina- Always there in the top 4 and probably another EW chance.
Race=4=Punjabi - Loves the ground and will blast of then we will see if he's good enough.
Race=5= Young Kenny- The best 4m horse I've bred but that doesn't say much but is a class horse on this ground but has a lot of weight.
Race=8=Boro Glen- Loves Fast ground but is probably not good enough.
Race=9= Supreme Touch is another that will love the ground and is nice enough to get placed but not sure about winning though.
Race=10=Janes Dream- Has been a terrible disappointment but has a low weight so its time to show u best Jane.
Race=12=Lean Ar Agaigh- Has been rather poor and he'll take his chance but not expecting much.
Race=17= Lady Jane- A really lovely horse who could go very close .
Race=18=Galileo - Goes on the ground and will be running on at the finish, should be a good EW shout.
Race=20=Feathered Lady- Been a Star this season and will blast of and we will she is good enough to win.
Race=22= Elemantry- Been a Star in all the races but is 0-3 on G/S ground this season and it could find him out again.
Race=24=Upton Park- Another front runner but the ground could be against him.
Race=25= Sweet Revaltion- Never runs a bad race but the distance could be a problem and hopefully she makes the top4.
Race=29= Struggles Glory is my best chance of the Festival and is a son of last years winner Present Abbey.

Good Ground not exactly what most of mine want but they should cope.

Best chances are Avicenna in RSA Chase, Hereditary Rule in Gold Cup and Feudal Ghost. Comments are in Tom

My horses are simply not good enough for the graded events though I will still have a few runners in them to give me a bit of interest. I have some with EW chances in the handicaps and am hopeful one or two can surprise.

R2 Arkle Nov Chase: Gold Rod - Making up the numbers and trip is too short anyway.
R3 Ultima Hcap Chase: Major Catastrophe - Solid performer but always seems to find a few too good. Expect the same to happen here.
R5 Glenfarclas Hcap Chase: Ramses - Has had a frustrating season so far missing out on MM final by one place on two occasions. Should run ok but trip is too short and likely to be outpaced from 2 out.
R7 Close Bros Nov Hcap Chase: Rhubaarb - It's all about the jumping with this one. Has a decent chance if he puts in a clear round but that's only happened once in 4 starts.
R10 Coral Cup: Holtz - Made a cracking debut in the G2 Relkeel hurdle but two races since have been beyond useless. A major player here if he bounces back to form and might be my best chance of the week.
R13 Fred Winter Juv Hurdle: Ice Maiden - Likes the track and might outrun her lowly rating.
R15 JLT Golden Miller Nov Chase: Young Parisian - Not sure about the trip and not good enough anyway. Outside chance of sneaking into top 5.
R17 Ryanair Chase: Polar Bear - Doubtful stayer. Expect this one to melt on the run in.
R19 Brown Advisory Hcap Chase: Free Kisses - Failed to see out 3m on chase debut. Might find this trip too sharp.
R21 Kim Muir Hcap Chase: Close Action - Runs here instead of Gold Cup. Would be suited by an extra furlong but is on a handy mark and has a solid EW chance.
R23 County Hurdle: Dirty Den - Has been hugely disappointing and ran a shocker over C&D earlier in the season despite trialing really well. Will have no weight and could spring a big shock if producing home form.
R24 Albert Bartlett Nov Hurdle: Bounty Bar - Better hurdler than chaser at home but looks well outclassed in this.
R25 Gold Cup: Guess Who - Stayed on into 5th in Cotswold Chase. Extra furlong will suit but unlikely to trouble the main contenders.
R27 Martin Pipe Hcap Hurdle: Blame Game - Will have a low weight thanks to 3 pretty dire efforts. No idea what to expect here, could finish in the first 3 or the last 3.
R28 Grand Annual Hcap Chase: Trance Nation - Out of the handicap and trip probably too sharp as well.

My team is as follows but a lot are in for interest in the big races but maybe one or two who stand a chance in the handicaps.

R1 Skybet - Popinjay Snoopy No chance but Doug likes the name.
R3 Ultima - Commanche pulled up more than finished, so imagine it will be the same.
R4 Stan James - Strength & Stay will belt along for 1.3/4miles and then fade, but will add pace to the race.
R5 Glenfarc - Macdillion nicely handicapped has a chance if all things go his way.
R6 Mares Hur. - Kamikaze Fury is one of my best at home, but has not translated to the league.
R7 CB Nov. - Shadow Serve - Needs further, 2nd in a Hunter Chase, gives you an idea of its chances
R8 Neptune - Sun Dante No chance
R10 Coral Cup - King Desire winner last time out, but even with weight pull will find this tough
R11 QM - Gogo Buddy no chance & will not be following in the footsteps of "My Name is Frank" who was 2nd last year
R12 Hunter - Dansili Blue every chance with this one, although Mr Morgans horse is going to be tough to beat, but hopeful of a good show.
R13 Fred Win - Spelunker. No chance
R15 JLT - Midsummer Fair. No chance
R16 Pertemps - Kimoko The Grey - Has a good chance, looks like the weights will be right in this one, so quietly hopeful. Loves Cheltenham
R17 Ryan - Even Top. is not totally out of it, but probably a furlong too far.
R19 Brown Ad. - Loving Spirit - so much better at home could surprise with a place.
R21 Kim Muir - Greyemkay - last years winner back to try again, similar weight always runs well at Cheltenham.
R23 Vin O'B - Party Doctor - every chance, if its a slow pace will be flying at the end
R24 Albert B - Canopa - 2nd in a maiden off same distance, looking like out of handicap but will be there abouts with 2F to go.
R25 Gold Cup - Masked Karla - likes Cheltenham but tall order even to place.
R26 Hun Chase - Beehive, anything could win this, right side of the weights so who knows.
R27 Mar Pip - Kamikaze Light - Got a chance this one.
R28 Gran An. Scruffy Skip - No Chance
R29 PM - Libranno, fell 13th this time last year, was poor LTO off top weight, but will stay & a place is on the cards if stays on feet.

Most of my horses are not up to this class, especially the graded races where they just entered for me to have some interest. I am hopeful of nicking a win and mayby getting 3 or 4 in the money.

R3 Ultima - Sam Dashing - Simply not good enough for this from well out of the handicap.

R4 Stan James - Spinning Man - Absolutely no chance, will be very suprised if he is not last.

R5 Glenfarclas - Graine Dunowen - Has been disappointing and is a long way out of the handicap but ground and trip are perfect so may show improvement (not enough to win though).

R6 Mares Hur. - Man Gold - Absolutely no chance, will be suprised if she is not last.

R7 CB Nov. - Rose Swift - Has shown some ability on a couple of occasions but way out of depth here from out of the handicap.

R8 Neptune - Anaglogs Daughter - No chance and another candidate for last place.

R10 Coral Cup - Man King - The presence of the top weight leaves him way too far out of handicap (not good enough anyway), no chance.

R11 Champion Chase - Krasivaya King - Absolutely no chance, will be suprised if he is not last.

R12 NH Chase - Jack Rackham - Have no idea how good he is as he hasn't completed yet but in all probability he is useless and has no chance.

R13 Fred Win - Philipstown Philipstown - Looks a very poor race for the grade but I'm still not expecting anything despite bottom weight. Horse doesn't truly stay 2 miles.

R14 Bumper - Philipstown Thats - Ran very well in a bumper in week 1 but has been terrible since so that must have been a fluke. Out with the washing beckons.

R15 JLT - Moidore Morpeth - If about 10 of the others fall may sneak some money, no chance.

R16 Pertemps - Man Bridgefield - Has been very frustrating for 2 seasons now but ran very well to qualify for this. Will be hugely disappointed if he is not in the first 3. Probably my best chance all week.

R17 Ryan - Trojan Rocket - Absolutely no chance, will be very suprised if he is not last.

R18 Stayers Hurdle - Mr Mr - Cleverly named mare!! Out of depth, 13th best on ratings but will run better than that (top 10). Definitely not my stupidest entry of the week and won't be disgraced.

R19 Brown Ad. - Vanguard Dream - C&D specialist, 3 wins including this race last year. In good form last twice and ground is perfect but still expect to find a couple too good and just hoping for some minor money. Has there ever been a back to back Cheltenham winner, albeit in a handicap?

R21 Kim Muir - Hana Swift - Trip and ground are perfect and ran a stormer last week but had been useless prior to that and it may have been a fluke. Don't know what to expect but will at least ensure an honest gallop.

R23 Vin O'B - Baralinka King - Well weighted and was third in this last year. Ground dampens enthusiasm but should be in first 6.

R24 Albert B - Sweet Sphinx - If it was a hunter chase and he had bottom weight would have a serious chance. In this race even Bob Hope has given up on him.

R25 Gold Cup - Money Winkle - Not good enough but will love ground and stays really well so if she avoids the dreaded racekit could stay on into top 10, which would be a success.

R26 Hunter Chase - Streetcar Mr - Hopeful of some minor money. Would have had a serious chance on quick ground but less so now.

R27 Martin Pipe - Mutanaker Philipstown - Becoming very disappointing after a promising start. If regaining early season form (and staying) she would have a place chance.

R28 Gran An. Philipstown Vienna - Running well at the moment but out of handicap and 1 or 2 more furlongs would have helped. Might sneak some minor money.

R29 Paul Moores - Amore - proving very disappointing of late. Not good enough but will love the ground and stays longer that the MIL and I managed a 4th in this race last year with a similar type. Most likely scenario is challenging for last place.

No realistic chance at all of any Cheltenham winners for me although somehow have managed to get two top rated. One or two could run into some minor money but looking like a pretty barren week.

My big Gold Cup hope Melancholy Way has been diverted to the Kim Muir with a low weight so if she finds her game form could go close. Dancing Fool in the first gets a crack at the right trip over hurdles for the first time and previous winners Dandelion, Wheatfield Soul and Boom Docker might be there or thereabouts. Hoping the Glenfarclas is over cross country course as Get Back is unbeaten over that. Crazy Parachute could hang on under top weight in a small field in the four miler but most are out of their depth.
