Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Jim my jumps game I set up not for the league but to just play normally is 50% UK with 20% Ireland and French and 10% aussie , I think I've got around 80ish oz jump races. All my early stallions I used/breed are game stallions from Oz-ireland-france. They really helped my team , without them I wouldn't be that competitive.

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
I quickly cobbled together a flat schedule to see what horses were available. I automatically advanced the save to 5 seasons. The schedule still needs a lot of work. This is how the different countries were represented after the 5 seasons. I think the number of horses may be proportional to the number of races from each country. The first look in the barn only showed 9 international sires, two from US and one each from the other countries with horses. I have not done any breeding yet to check the quality of the international sires. Jim

Never changed my schedules on any game, they are all default, the most I have ever done is change the pool size. Seems to work out ok for me.

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Wasn't expecting much today, happy with the one place however.
Death Star (Unpl) - Had an awful draw and wide run the whole way. Never had a chance but ran respectably.
Lucky Moon (Unpl) - Didn't stay as expected, probably best off at 9f.
Lucky Berry (Unpl) & Druidess (3rd) - Lucky Berry was always carrying too much weight, however very surprised with Druidess, thought she was an out an out 5f horse but stayed on well over 6f to get 3rd and some decent prize money too.
Dancing Moon (Unpl) - Not much to say really, he's just not that good and will need to be sub 50 on the handicap mark front to be competitive.

Good week for me, 4 on the flat, a G1 (dead heat) a Maiden and 2 handicaps. 4 on the NH a G2 novice chase ( so what if half the field fell) a novice hurdle, a handicap and my first Hunter chase.

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Hit and miss week for me. 3 wins on the NH but the overall consistency of my team continues to be decent, loads of places, but I had expected a tough week and not sure next is going to be much better. The competition between the top four is getting pretty intense. Flat continues to go from the sublime to the ridiculous, 7 wins in total can’t really grumble about any of them. But spare a thought for Jim and his 20 odd seconds, I’d be pulling my hair out Josh

A surprisingly good day for me. I came in with no expectations and only a handful of runners and emerged with my first NH win (yes you were correct Martin) and a couple of places. Sure they were lowly handicaps but a win is a win. Very pleased!

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Poor runs in the qualifiers but a winner on the board is a good start nonetheless
Cactus Jack (unpl) - Very poor run after his 2nd in the Victoria Cup. Shocking from the jockey, pulled him all over the track. One positive though is that his mark will drop right before Royal Ascot where a big run is expected. Likely still going for the Hunt Cup.
Easter Sunday (unpl) - Another poor run, I think the trip was definitely too short.
Rose Alley (unpl) - Out of her depth class wise, back down to 0-80/0-70 she will go.
Breton Rose (unpl) - Failed to improve on last week's promise, expected much better.
Druidess (5th) & Purple Ronnie (Won) - Certainly wasn't expecting much from Purple Ronnie but a stiff 5f with ground to suit has seen him scrape home. Solid run by Druidess just in behind. Both likely to go to the Windsor Castle.

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
A great day with 3 winners and a few others that got placed. I've got a genuine festival horse in Cuthill My other winner Cab on Target will have to have a go at the better 3m hurdlers to see if he's a stayers horse or still a pertemp horse. Even though he's been 2nd the last twice i've still not seen the best of Unioniste yet, still could be my gold cup horse on soft ground.

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Another great day, keeping all of my horses away from group and listed level is now starting to pay dividends with wins and places and horses coming into form at the right time ahead of Ascot.
Zoro (2nd) - Another cracking run, even with an 8lb hike from his win, for any horse to finish in the top 2 at handicap level on 3 occasions in the league is some feat and glad to see a monster horse from the game finally do it in the league too. Likely to join Cactus Jack in the Hunt Cup.
Marie Curie (1st) - Fully deserved after some great runs, never looked like getting beat after getting her easy lead, goes to the Sandringham with confidence high.
Lucky Moon (Unpl) & Dancing Moon (Unpl) - Both ran OK without challenging, Lucky Moon will be better off at 9 and could be dangerous in the Sandringham, Dancing Moon will go back up in trip but won't go to Ascot.
Moon Crescent (4th) - Ran OK, needs some more assistance from the handicapper before challenging. Need to make a decision on which two of my three 7f/1m+ 2yo horses go to the US. None of the three will go to the Chesham.
Master Line (2nd), Mastermind (Unpl) - Both ran well, gutted Mastermind just missed out on qualifying but Master Line has qualified so happy with that. Both are out and out 5f horses so no options for them next week unfortunately.

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Better week on the flat for me so far with 5 winners from the first 2 days
Monterey Kool looking every bit as good as I was saying on Discord with 3 wins from 3 now, all 3 at different distances too 10,11, an 12
My two 5f sprinters look class in Yima twister and Jixi Speedster, both group1 winners. I was worries Speedster would be too much of a hold up for the league, but he's coped exceptionally, even sitting handier than normal. All 3 of the above haven't overly been bred yet, so could be a good sign for the stable
Yuma Genes finally got his win having ran well every race so far. I'm starting to think a very easy mile, or a stiff 7f are his wheelhouse
Rocky Mount Desert is starting to look a lot better than his opening day flop too. Should be thereabouts in the big 2m races
Arkansas Auctioneer winning his last 2 now is good news too. A very old miler in my trials as I didn't really play it between seasons. So if I can get some game time into that game they should be very close again next season
The jumps was a bit of a struggle this week. But not many got their ground. However winning the Hennessey was a massive highlight of the season. Sierra Vista Medusa is a very flexible horse over 3m2 to 3m5. She was uploaded for the Welsh national an was one of my fav horses. Looks like she may have to go to the Gold Cup now. She really is a different animal on good ground though so may struggle in the bigger races.
Thanks To Mart for a herculian effort so far with the comms, for the past 2 seasons now probably. The big question of the week is... Did they get the bed in the Car?

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Grade 1 and 2 wins over jumps so far this week Vivre la France looking like a proper Champion hurdle prospect . Flat horses continue to run well another couple of good handicap wins Elmfield Boars could well end up in group races after a slow start hes bolted up in 2 handicaps now and no sign of stopping,if his mark suits the Portland handicap is perfect for him at 5.5F
Well done all the winners big and small and thanks to all for making it happen its much appreciated

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Some more dividends being paid on day three, looking forward to Ascot next week.
Kew Corner (Unpl) - Need to work out her best trip, might need to drop back to 1m4f/1m5f.
The Outlaw (4th) - Another solid run, heads to the Wolferton.
Lucky Brother (2nd) - Finally reaching a winnable mark, stayed on well.
Lucky Berry (disqualified) & The Predator (5th) - The stewards want to have gone into hiding after that, slightly nudged a beaten horse to get out and won by at least a length, mental decision. Yet to decide on if she goes to the Albany. The Predator ran well again and will go to the Coventry.
Disco Heaven (4th) & Suprastar (Unpl) - Solid runs by both of them, glad to get Disco qualified.
Maundy Thursday (2nd) & Prized Princess (4th) - Both starting to hit form and will have live chances in the Ascot and Queen Alexandra Stakes.
Death Star (3rd) & Octavian (4th) - Solid run from both, they both go to the Brittania.
Rose Of Lancaster (Unpl) - Poor run in that company, going to struggle this year.

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
A great week for my team with 6 winners Will start to find it real tough now that they are going up the h'cap. It was nice to see Lottery win the moores qualifier but even in that race my horses was struggling after 4 miles, i think i've bred a decent bunch of 4 milers but will struggle going longer. I might have a few runners at the festival this season

Re: Season 16 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Good week for me, my favourite on the flat to date. Only had 4 winner but all were G1 and three of them were special for me. Firstly ‘Time of the Beast’ vindicated my selection of him, nearly left the spot empty this season, as he was average at trial against my 3yo girls. But dominant performance at Epsom to bring me my first ever Derby win, certainly on SO7. ‘Heart of Oak’ winning the race she was named for and her target race was also a pressure off point. Lastly ‘Monsterous’ that’s what she does to the rest of mine at trial, and in what I consider the only truly neutral 3yo 1m race, lived up to her name.
NH is a crap shoot, the top four are extremely even and there are a few below who on their day are every bit as good, it’s all going to come down to ground preference and the random nature of race position.
