Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Business end of the season now matey I get more of those lovely non UK tracks for my sprinters and milers. Big week for me on the flat and an average one on the NH. Best part of the season now, all levelled out and we should mostly be rated where we should. Roll on Cheltenham and the Breeders Cup. Josh

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
It's always the ones I don't expect to win as Imhotep's Curse picks one up in good fashion. There's a fair few that continue to be consistently placed but not dropped enough because of this to get a win. The aim now is to try and get as much Prize Money as possible and hopefully rely on Titanfall to find me a group win as he's the only one with a chance until we hit the G1 Handicaps.
Doom Of Dartmoor was unlucky not to qualify, a few chances this week, the big money in the Eatontown being the aim.
NH was much better, finally another win through Spirit Of Sutton, I think I had 4 other top 3s, I'm hoping a couple may sneak into Cheltenham off low weights, I may be able to pick up some places in races like the Grand Annual, Kim Muir, 2m4f Handicap Chase etc.
Well done all winners and great work as always those that put it all together running and comms

Another great week in NH with 7 winners Welsh National, Two G2 wins and The G1 Christmas Hurdle I would be buzzing with the Christmas Hurdle win, but feel lucky from Vinny, his jockey stopped trying at the end, and mine got up, maybe the same in the Welsh National too and the Relkeel Hurdle was close Flat, nice to see my fav horse Whiteoak win and gives me a bit of hope for the Doncaster Cup now too Well done everyone with winners and placers, and Thanks to everyone running the league tough this week with website and forums being down

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Bit of a poor day 1 for me on the flat registering just a 4th place from 6 starts. But I don't trial at Goodwood so is probably to be expected. Great to see Mr Rigby win the Goodwood Cup for David Robertson....a week before it was winning an All Weather race, so as well as being the most popular competition it is now a good form guide for some of the Group races Better performance on the NH side, 5 place getters and a winner, and more importantly nobody pulled up injured!! Congrats to all the other race winners and place getters.

Mark should be bloody ashamed of this and the league site. It's a shop window for the game and he seems not to give a bleep. I'm on another horse racing forum and they use the same software and yet when it goes down its normally back up straight away but in here it could last forever. Imagine having a site like this for SO8.

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Great 2 days for me on the flat. Mr Rigby winning the G1 Goodwood cup was a pleasant surprise as I didn't think he was good enough (but what do I know) Hopscotch Strand taking the G3 Blackrock fillies race. Adelinas Nights took the Ascot Stayers cup Listed race and Dancing Fool breaks his duck in the Betfred Mile of top weight. I am pleasantly surprised as to how well some of my horses are running as a lot of them didn't make the cut in the last league. Having said that there are a few that are running well below what I expected. It seems horses that trial well don't always bring that form to the league, either that or my trialling isn't set up as good as it should be. Anyway I am happy with how things have gone for me in the league and long may it continue.

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Another good week for me. Three winners on the flat including a G1 and a G2 with True Colours making it 5 wins in her last 6 starts. She's shaping up to be a contender for horse of the year.
Found the winner's circle four times in the NH in what was a very good hit out for Cheltenham next week. Special mention has to go to Daniel French and Persian Princess for six wins on the trot, fantastic effort - even if she was wearing my silks!
Looking forward to Cheltenham which I think is going to throw up some great races this year.

Great week all in all with grade 1s and 2s over the jumps including Persian Princess making it six on the bounce!! Was added as a 3 miler but ran awful so dropped the trip as a last resort .Complete fluke what has happened since . Coral cup was the plan after she won her first hurdle and thats the race next week off 125 id be very hopeful to say the least .
Congrats to all the winners and huge thanks to everyone that puts the league on and long may it continue

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Did alright this week, 3 flat wins. Acorn Coco came from nowhere to win and got the Martin treatment of "Low Weight" problem with that one and many will see the same, they run on the AW, 3 bad draws in a row and your mark drops and finally get a break it looks like its low, not much else you can do. Same will happen with several of mine that run on the AW this week, all bad draws had no chance, will drop and prob. hose something up next week, we need to put a limit on the AW races as I describe above, it makes a mock of the marks eventually and no fault of the handicapper. Two other wins came at the tail end and 5yo Cornish strikes again, never lost on soft ground (4 wins) over 2 seasons if only there was more soft 12f races In the Hunt, finally won a Hunter chase but my NHF flat horse "Spirit Badger" has won 4 out of 5 now and has a chance next week at Cheltenham as long as its good or softer..... as it should be at Cheltenham, FIRM/GF would not exist as they would water so watch that Alex.
LASTLY, I really would appreciate people taking 5 mins of their time to enter the Cheltenham Comp. it takes alot of work to do it over the three days and I do enough with Comms & RR. (You dont want my individual abuse next week in comms, espesh. if I see you have been on forum and not entered )

That would mean me having to do a load of trials tonight trialing my 6 horses over the gold cup course tonight.

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
Good week for me, 4 wins across both codes with plenty of places. Sovereign Sceptre and Tauros were two I had hopes for pre-season so glad to see them both win and in comfortable fashion. 4 3rd's on the flat too, this week doesn't look the best for my stable but will have chances in final 3 weeks.
Plenty to cheer on the NH for a change, On This Day was exceptional and gets his reward with a trip to the Champion Hurdle. Devils Plan and Homerry were expected to be my 2 best in the stable and 1st and 2nd for them, was also great to have a 1-2 with Element Of Victory behind Devils Plan.
Possibly a lot to go at this week, plenty of Hunters with live chances, including the big hunter at Cheltenham and I'm hoping one of mine can cause an upset given all trials are done at Cheltenham, some of them proved earlier in the season they have more in the tank there, so we'll see.
Thank you all involved as always

Re: Season 17 Trainers Post Race Discussion and Thoughts
4 Winners this week in NH
Star Power -Fell last 2 over fences, so decided to go back to hurdles and won Scottish County Handicap Hurdle well, up 14lb but still on a good mark of 116 for Vincent O'Brien County Hurdle Fast Response - Winning Irish Champion Hurdle from the front. Hopefully she can run the same at Cheltenham. If not, we have Cheltenham Specialist Fast Track, which leaves out my highest rated hurdler, Speed Team, but ratings mostly from last season, she's failed in the G1 races this season Princess Card -Winning Denman Chase, heavy rain expected on days 2 and 3 at Cheltenham, so will now go for Ryanair Always Brace - Great win in Irish Gold Cup, Ryanair has always been the aim, won Clonmel Oil Chase on heavy too so big chance Unlucky Sixth Gear getting DQ, but great to see he ran well last 2 weeks gives me hope again for Arkle
Well done, everyone else with winners and placers, and Thanks to everyone running the league
