SuperCat wrote: I like you have my own opinions of the presidency and the league which I have aired for the most part earlier on in this thread and in others in the past, but the time has gone for bitching, either decide to be in the league and try and help out to get it running quicker. Or decide to read the posts, and keep up to date but stay out of it for the most part, that's what I'm going to do.
I like your idea on the above supercat and do agree with you, there has to be more stability in the league then what has been in the passed for me to join the league as it is hard work and long hours playing the game just to get this going on here and there during league play, so i'll do your trick supercat and sit on the other side of the fence on this one.

exactly, jim made the decision!! but rivers you just asked colm and jim to come out and say they did??
when i said 'who would of made the decision, rich himself?' i was joking/sarcastic, as obv noone can just put themselves in the presidency role!!!
supercat/tomas - i agree that is probably the best thing to do - weve put our ideas forward about different things like transfers schedules etc. , now its probs just best to wait and see when the league resumes, and if you want to enter some horses then do so.

No I would like to know if they had a vote and who they voted for and why, a different thing entirely HR.
I would also like to know Rich views on horse placement (running horses over correct distances)and stewards.
Because this is a massive area of play.
You do have a view Rich don't you?
I know you were joking being sarcastic HR.

i think the poll on the presidency was started as an unofficial thing , it wasnt a case of everyone involved in this game putting forward a vote - the number of votes didnt total the number of trainers who play!!
if the presidency was ever going to be decided in such a way, then anybody who wanted to run for it would be able to put themselves and their ideas forward before voting commenced.
anyway , back to the league - are you going to be competing when the league begins rivers? im sure it is going to begin in october !

It doesn't really matter who appointed who as president Rivers, it's to long ago to bring up, now bud, it's the leagues future that people need to be talking about, how to move forward from here that should matter.

Okay but can we open a discussion on horses running over their correct distances and what the boundaries are going to be - BEFORE THE LEAGUE STARTS. This was a contentious issue last season.

I thought that there is a law that a horse can run a furlong either way of it's true distance Rivers
did that law change?

yeh i think it was 2 furlongs either side of the specified ideal distance.
also rich wants to bring in the three race rule - 3 races before a horse is given a mark.
other changes will involve stabe size, retirements/transfers, and upload windows, however nothing has been confirmed yet as these things are being considered currently

So if I have a genuine 7f horse I can run it over 5f and 9f get a low handicap mark and clean up in handicaps?
My suggestion would be that a horse can run over two distances only and they must be either a furlong up or down. 5f sprinters running over 7f is a recipe for disaster. Limit them to 5f or 6f.
Are there going to be stewards?

i dont know mate - i know there are staff ready for all of the nhc positions, they were sorted by paul around the time we ran the cheltenham festival. this is one of the things which takes time i.e. sorting new staff out and showing them how to do things, like running the races etc. but rich is the man to tell you who will be doing what when the league resumes, and if you did wanna be a steward or anything im sure it would be appreciated.
