Queen Anne Stakes 4yo+ all sexes Group 1
8 Line up for the Mile Group 1 for the older horses but may be 7 due to Group 1 running rules. This also looks like a tasty clash between the stars and stripes and the union jack, but again I think the award will go south to the union jack, blue and white of Australia....The breeding stock from scatters farms, NSW are in top form and may have produced another
group 1 winner here in DANLEIGH already a 3 time Grade 1 winner including the Dubai Duty Free finishing ahead of CELTIC ZERO who has been running well in top company but keeps bumping into DANLEIGH...FULL FRONTAL was also in behind that day and has been consistant until disappointing in Diomed last time out.
Others to consider are HIGHLAND RETREAT who has been good in top class company including a 2nd in the Lockinge ahead of FULL FRONTAL and SUN INN another horse reopposing here who has run 3 good races but might just fall short.SUNNY BAY is coming here of the back of one run, but what a debut run it was when 3rd in the Diomed beating some good horses and on a formline with brixton reject who does not reoppose SUNNY BAY will be able to put up a fight here. STUDENT RIT finishes the field for trainer Liam Durkin hoping to give him some birthday cheers but after a poor maiden performance will have to put so hard graft in to go close. For me once DANLEIGH hits the front 2 out, the race could be put to bed.
PREDICTION
1: DANLEIGH
2: HIGHLAND RETREAT
3: CELTIC ZERO

Ascot Stakes Handicap 2m4f 0-100 handicap for 3yo+
The handicaps are a huge part of Royal Ascot, and we have our first one here the ascot stakes 0-100 over the extreme 2m4f and due to the ground conditions this will be a tough race. Firstly DAHTEER MANNY has been a consistent type for a trainer whose stayers are in form but having to shoulder 3rd top weight may be too much to handle even if it stays. EASTERN MAGENTA for the staying divisions most popular and friendly face Paul Moores may run a valiant effort off a low weight but must overcome a poor maiden run. EXAM REVISION may have been thrown in as a last resort according to the trainer but I see it differently, a 4th in the Chester cup means this horse is no mug and has a 12lb weight pull from her chester cup meeting with SUNDAY GOLD but the doubts come whether this horse will stay. FREE YEAR, HOTHAIFA & ROYAL BOOK have all run well but all also have severe trip reservations and must be good if they will stay the trip.
The main 3 here though are BOUNCE, SAMMY BEAR & SUNDAY GOLD....It is interesting as to why Padraig Hogan has put BOUNCE here rather than the Gold Cup and despite shouldering top weight has only lost to the great Jupiters Trail, and more importantly the horse will stay the distance. SAMMY BEAR & SUNDAY GOLD are very equal at the weights and expect them to have a private battle
for 2nd and 3rd which SAMMY BEAR might win due to the pull at the weights from their Chester Cup runs. Both will have to run the race of their life to beat BOUNCE
My Prediction
1: BOUNCE
2: SAMMY BEAR
3: SUNDAY GOLD

Royal Hunt Cup 0-100 3yo+
A race where the draw may prove the winning effect here but it is unknown from what side. There are plenty of chances here and we start with Derby/Oaks winning trainer Kenny Robertson's chance ALLEGED who has impressed especially at Sandown and Doncaster, will enjoy the ground and is weighted to turn around the Doncaster 1-2 with BAYEAUX TANGO who despite winning the Lincoln and 3rd at
Haydock may be in the handicappers grip. BABYLON could challenge but has been found wanting in top company. If one was to shock I would side with BANAGHER, trainer must be respected and is well in at the weights with some of these. BRIXTON REJECT has been running in decent company but that may put the nail in the coffin here as the weight might be too much to carry. CORENNE won the Masaka stakes but was found wanting at Haydock lto again one possibly in the grip of the handicapper. EXTRA SLIM can go really well here if takes to the ground, consistent runs and well handicapped. MARCHING QUEEN from a top stable is eyecatching with a 3rd in the Guineas but disappointed at epsom and ground may not suit. NAJEEYE has been consistant and well handicapped on form with BABYLON and gets his ground but whether he is good enough I'm unsure. PERSEPOLIS seems to enjoy 7f a bit more and TURN LOOSE & VINTAGE probably want further although the conditions may suit for those with stamina but both are towards the head of the handicap. It is an impossible race to call but I will plump with ALLEGED at the top of the handicap but will get the trip and ground.
MARCHING QUEEN, BAYEUX TANGO, NAJEEYE, CORENNE, VINTAGE & EXTRA SLIM can all fight out the finish
My Prediction
1: ALLEGED
2: MARCHING QUEEN
3: BAYEUX TANGO
4: EXTRA SLIM
SPECIAL PRICEWISE
1pt e/w NAAJEYE
1/2 a pt e/w BANAGHER

Queen Mary 2yo Group 2 5f Fillies only
Another trappy heat here at Royal Ascot in the Queen Mary for 2yo's
CANNY LASS has been a class act so far and will get the ground, beat a few of these at chester so has the upper hand in this race. GLASGOW LADY has won her last 2 races but despite that has disappointed in the soft ground. ROYAL NYMPH won a Grade 3 handicap in the US lto but is an unknown quantity with the form and ground. RUSTICA has been running over 6f and weakening,
so 5f should suit but again uncertanties on the ground. SHEN AL CALHAR is a very consistent type who is closely matched to CANNY LASS and can see her running a massive race. SHOWARRI & STARSPANGLEDBANNER have both performed well consistently but lacking behind a few of these. WEATHER CHART has been running well over 6 but unsure if she will have the pace for 5f.
YOU TOO has won twice in the soft ground and beaten a few of these. Might be rated slighty behind GLASGOW LADY on offical ratings but the ground may be the difference here.
Prediction
1: YOU TOO
2: CANNY LASS
3: SHEN AL CALHAR[/b]

I expect to see Scatters back in the winners enclosure over the mile, straight track, no draw bias...
Sprints will be interesting with low draws getting an advantage but also risking getting stuck on the rail.

Back again, glad the review are having there desired effect here's race 8
Prince Of Wales Stakes Group 1 1m2f 4yo+
A very good renewal for 4yo's and above over 10 furlongs and a good mix between American and UK horses...First up we shall have a look at the American form and start with EARTHQUAKE who has given some good attempts including 3rd in a Grade 1 last time out, yet to win though. LANDING FLIGHT has also ran some solid races but is probably not good enough. MACHINE HEAD looks the raider most likely to present a challenge, 2 time Grade 1 winner and been unlucky not to win more. There are reservations about the ground but will be there at the finish. From the UK we have horses such as MUSIC BO & FIRE WALK WITH ME who have been solid but only in defeat and will probably come up short here. FIREBOY is class but the form is a bit hit and miss. ANDROID won last time out beating BINOCULAR but that was over G/F. BINOCULAR could be the one for me here, has the beating of FIREBOY & ANDROID over good to soft and the conditions will suit here
My Prediction
1:BINOCULAR
2:MACHINE HEAD
3:FIREBOY

Norfolk Stakes 5f Colts Group 2
Possibly the toughest race to preview yet, any of these can win...As usual
firstly we will look at the US raiders. WISE OWL and MAGIC MISTRESS are the ones to lookout for...Both G3 winners but WISE OWL has the beating of MAGIC MISTRESS and probably the better chance on the ground. THUNDEROUS has also run well but behind both of these and so has been FABULOUS ALL STAR.
From the UK challenge the ones to look out for are POSTY, JETSTREAM, SIR FREDDIE, DEATHWATCH GUARD, SPECIALIZED & G MAC....The latter GMAC has been very consistent but been behind a few of these. DEATHWATCH GUARD, SPECIALIZED, POSTY and SIR FREDDIE all have noses and heads between them and have been taking turns to beat each other and will be down to the draw and the ground to get one another beat. JETSTREAM has only had one run but was impressive ahead of a few of these. Ground should suit and JETSTREAM is my pick for the leading trainer John Reddis. The placings could go anywhere but I personally think the 2 US horses will have the pace to go places.
My Prediction
1: JETSTREAM
2: WISE OWL
3: MAGIC MISTRESS
