 Horses running out of handicap
Hi lads
Where do we stand at horses running in handicaps? There are a few horses entered for next weeks races in 81-95 handicaps that are rated 75+.

Re: Horses running out of handicap
I would also like to know this. I have entered a few horses in the higher handicaps only after seeing that so many others already had but I have no qualms in scratching them.

I agree we need a ruling from the handicapper.

Re: Horses running out of handicap
I thought in a previous post we were scrapping the handicap bands because of all the stuff that went on and that the bands were too small??

Re: Horses running out of handicap
The bands are too small, and R3 and R15 mentioned above would only have 3 or 4 entries if only the eligible horses were allowed entry. Even though I have a horse in each of those races that meets the original criteria, I think it's fine to let everyone in.

Re: Horses running out of handicap
I think the problem is we dont have a handicapper so horses are running below what we had last season and horses who had won maidens last season where mostly rated over the 100 rating mark sorry we need a handicapper my horses on the flat are poor and at the moment cant win any handicaps as better horses around them are rated near the same marks i put some horses outside of the handicap mark in this weeks races myself.
Actually most of my horses are rated in the mid 70's and i havent looked at future handicaps yet but i am thinking of just keeping two or three runners on the flat and taking the others out and just keeping the jumpers where its working fine.
I would offer to do the handicapping on the flat if i knew how it was done when so5 comes out i will give the flat a miss and stick to the jumps someone needs to pick up the mantle and sort the flat handicapping out.

Re: Horses running out of handicap
We just need a handicapper. The lesser horses will find it very hard to win a race otherwise

Re: Horses running out of handicap
i thought a few lads had already offered to do the handicapping
you really need someone who knows exactly how handicapping works
i agree some of mine would not have even got in handicaps if steve were running it they would have to go up in level
i would like to see everyone get a winner even at the cost of 1 of mine at mo dont think it is possible for everyone to get a winner
