Cheltenham Day 2....

Shine One (10th) - Not a bad run in the Queen Mother
Estoril (1st) - GET IIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nearly gave me a heart attack with a slow jump at the last but still could not be caught to win the Fred Winter! First Cheltenham festival winner and hopefully the first of many! Absolutely delighted :D :D :D :D
Monza (12th) - Last in the champion bumper but what a great race
Macho Man (8th) - A couple of slow jumps blow his chance
Parsons Fancy (11th) - Last of the finishers, was never going to be good enough for the Ryanair
Bang Bang Bang (13th) - Sweated badly before the race but still got into a great position 3f out. Faded badly as expected but if she was calm before hand she could have been very close
Sepang (14th) - Challenged for the lead and sulked, awful run

A couple of disappointments but who cares after Estoril winning the Fred Winter. Completely made my season, doesn't matter what happens now!
Win a race at the Cheltenham festival: Objective completed.

Well done to all other winners this week, especially the big G1's

Tuesday was bad and I thought wednesday had to be better but I was wrong. Not a decent run from any horse.

Like everyone I trial around cheltenham, so every horse from every stable is a cheltenham specialist. Makes it hard to win.

I am hoping this is just a blip and the stable gets back to winning ways next week.

Im glad this bleeping week has finished. Greenbank   summed my week up.

And then after Cheltenham west tip blunders away his chance in the national  Wake me up when this week ends.

My Cheltenham stables are on the market and I will never trial there again. I'm of to Scotland to set up my jump stables at Ayr.

Delighted to win the Gold Cup with La Bise bounding up the hill for its maiden win :D , it really is a great horse in trials and has just never had the ground track and conditions right for it until today, the Course and distance were perfect for it - just goes to show a Gamebred winning the biggest race of the year, everyone can win the big ones in the jumps. Bad luck to Matt Mclean and Colour me bad who I thought had it until smacking into the last.

Well done all winners and placers and thanks to the staff.

R21 Project Rage (4th) - led until the last flight. great effort.
R22 Song And Dance (13th) - trip was too short and was always going to find it tough with top weight.
R24 Northern Soul (2nd) - delighted to finish 2nd even if she was very lucky. Matt's horse had the race in the bag when it ploughed through the last and still nearly got back up for 2nd. winner took full advantage of the mistake and won well. congratulations to winning trainer dcdean.
R25 Bad Girl (9th) - has been so disappointing this season. never got into the race.
R26 Dynamite (F6) - jumped terrible. only surprise is that she got to the 6th fence before falling.
R27 Free Ride (9th) - pulled too hard and barely stayed 3m4f nevermind 4m4f.
R28 Champagne Diva (11th) - jumped badly and was always behind. yet another terrible run.

overall a great cheltenham festival for me with 3 G1 wins and several other really good efforts from my runners.

well done to all winners and placers.

A nice end to the week for me with 1 winner and some other great efforts. Been a great week overall with 4 wins including 2 grade 1s with Times wasting's champion hurdle win the hightlight.

Hoofs of Thunder -1st- A brilliant battle up the hill in this 4m novice and my lad plodded on really well up the hill to just snatch victory

Blown -2nd- Ran a cracker as i knew he would but i thought lady rebecca was a big danger off a decent weight and she was a great winner

Spanish Armada -1st- Fantastic performance again showing a blistering turn of foot. was a bit worried about the hill but his class prevailed

Champion -4th- Ran a stormer but found a few just too good on the day. she put a slow jump in at a crucial time when the field had just started to quicken and it cost her 6 or 7 lengths but thats racing so well done to the winner

Tricky Trickster -2nd- What a race this was and she was so gallant in defeat giving a massive 17lb to the winner. she loved the better ground and i was willing her to hold on but the weight was just a bit too much

Wasn't expecting much and didn't get much, Knost has been fantastic and really deserves a win now, consistently running huge races from the front and 3rd in the JLT was great. Scourge Of Gaul's 5th in the Byrne Group was a valiant run, biggest shame was Twinkle Toeas unseating rider in the Grand Annual as it would have gone close. Good or Good to Firm this week, expect some big improvement from these ex flat horses.

Cheltenham Day 3 plus extras...

Zod Sterling (10th) - Just not good enough for a Triumph Hurdle
Say My Name (10th) - A mistake at the first did not help her
Chocolate Lover (7th) - Ran well for a long way in the Albert Bartlett before fading. Good Run
Musanid (8th) - Good run in an eventful gold cup. Many hard luck stories with the favourite and last years winners unseating and then colour me badd blundering the last when leading. Interesting to see a gamebred win the big one. Well done Chris Dean.
One World (1st) - 2 winners at Cheltenham as she romps home in the Martin Pipe! How she stayed the trip is beyond me! WHAT A WEEK :D :D
Girl On Fire (6th) - Decent run in the Grand Annual
Running Up That Hill (8th) - Finished miles behind, will be on a low weight for the national next week
Dry County (Fell) - Fell at the second last when running well in 3rd. Shame, next stop national. If soft/heavy then he's got a great chance. Probably won't be though.
De Soto (4th) - Back to form, good run
Ghostkonski (5th) - The firmer ground brought some improvement
Bullfighter (3rd) - Could never get close to the winner. Should win off this mark though.

Another Cheltenham winner, really happy with 2 in my 2nd season.

Well done to all winners this week
