I don't think times really mean anything at all over the jumps, but if you are aiming for times then you might have to go quite a bit quicker because most of my current league horses aren't even graded class.
Personally though I think it is more to do with consistency and jumping ability than times. is that hurdles or chases or Both I no my hurdlers are solid they had decent lge horses to trial against but chasers only had lge handicappers to trial against and poor ones at that i am currently breeding a new batch of 2m5 - 3m2 chasers and hope to find better these are distances i have always struggled at in lge i try and replicate lge conditions so there is no lightening pace in my trials i always take consistency over times

Also Cat how do you set your trials up
do you set on 5yo+ cheltenham good open gender i have noticed that setting the age to open can be up to 8 secs quicker than trials set to age and can throw up strange & inconsistent results as i say i try and replicate how things will be in lge

Over hurdles mine are a little quicker over 3m (sub 6 min most of the time, but only just 5.58/5.59), about the same over 2m5f and I didn't bother with 3m2f over hurdles.
Mine are significantly faster over fences though (the times I posted about above), BUT I have made them horses who specialise at Cheltenham so possibly yours might be faster at a different course...
I still think that there is a lot more left to chance over the jumps so if you have a horse who you know will jump fast and get around (which I know mine will) that will make up the seconds they lose by being slower on the flat.
5+ all sexes thrown in, best horse wins.

It is pointless IMO lol to time trial NH Horse's Hurdles/Chase's to many things can happen Slow Jumps Mistakes Blunders etc I save my league team Current and after finishing with he trials run them against my league team that is how I know which horse's are best.

Just out of interest Paul why are you trialling on good ground. Should be good to soft at least. Hardly any races in NH on good or better ground. The ground makes a big difference in the results
