Zod Sterling (12th) - Returning from last season but was never going to be good enough here
Sky Ferreira (7th) - Not a bad one at all
Shine One (8th) - A pretty solid run
Sepang (12th) - Faded very tamely but another returning horse who was always going to struggle this week
Lundos (7th) - Encouraging run, will improve in juvenile hurdles
Turning Up The Heat (6th) - Very good opening run over 2f too far probably

No money on day 1 but I rarely do in maidens. Encouraging start from a couple though

Leading jumps championship after day 1 early days though

didbnt manage a winner but a 4th and 2nd were two great efforts and well happy with them other runners were non stayers I hope and now need to have big upload in this week to get the squad numbers up but all in all a positive start and im hooked now

Great Day with 4 winners. Looks like its going to be a great battle for the trainers title.

R11 - Masked Stranger - 1st - Won well and will be better over 3m so prospects are good.
R12 - Taskmaster - 7th - Never showed but my bumper horses always seem to improve over the season and the firm ground was not to his liking
R13 - Craftsman - 5th - Needs further
R14 - Nurture - 6th - Clearly didn't stay
R15 - Despicable Me - 4th - Needs a stiffer test and softer ground
R16 - Leige Lord - Distance was stretching his stamina and a late jumping error didn't help
R17 - Something Good - 1st - Happy as he wants it a bit further
R18 - Audacity - 1st - Ran on well - good run for my 3rd string 2m4 hurdler
R19 - Dogs of War - 1st - Amazing run - Headed on numerous occasions but rallied each time before pulling away at the finish. 3m1 is probably on the short side as well
R20 - Ruling Swordsman - 2nd - Distance was too far but acquitted himself well.

Considering I tested the boundaries of distances for most of my runners it was a brilliant day and the stable looks very strong over the 2m4 / 2m5 distance

Another winner for a new stable in NH league today which was great to see

Race 12 Urban Myth 4th Disappointing start to his campaign he got outpaced Impressed with winner

Race 13 Maria Sherrapova Unplaced and ran a shocker i don't blame the jock for giving up in final furlong head scratcher
back to the drawing board with him

Race 14 Sir Terminator WINNER wow he souped up that was very very impressive wow well chuffed flew home

Race 15 Roberto Santini 2nd good start for him even though the winner was different class a positive start

Race 16 Special Forces 2nd ran well needs further winner was strong jumping well at last sealed the win

Race 17 Diving In The Jungle another who looked to have the race at his mercy but FELL

Race 19 Alvaro Di Maria Unseated rider early on back to jumps school for 3 of mine

Race 20 Sky Express WINNER and ran out a very tidy winner too very pleased could be handy at multiple distances this season

R11 Cave Dweller (2nd) - very promising run. blundered his way over the 2nd last which didn't help but Leon's winner was too good anyway.
R13 Carmen Black (8th) - best at this trip (3m5f) in ck but weakened badly from early in the straight. just hope it was an off day.
R19 Tobermory (3rd) - got outpaced from 3 fences out then ran on again from the last. will be suited by further.
R20 Shakespeare (3rd) - doesn't stay a yard further than 2m2f so delighted to see him hang on for a place.

Tropical Lake Fell, running ok when fell
Material World 2nd, ran well winner was impressive.
Rig Steel 4th, jumping was awful.
Santa Concerto 2nd, a good run will need a faster race.
Fiddling the Facts 1st, jumped well.
Niche Market 1st, jumped well and loves a slog.
Classifield 1st, over the moon, the top three are all class acts.

That's the good thing with the jumps, no one person can dominate and it will always come down to the final week or two.

I think the gold cup field already starting to take shape and I think it could be a good one. There's a few flashy types out there aka Kauto Stars types compered to my horses that are more like Denman type horses, front running grinders.
