And one of Snobert's progeny, SNOBURY winning my first ever SO online league race, be it a handicap, the Epsom Investec Insurance, by 2 3/4 lengths in a time of 2.04.87 on good ground, carrying 8st8llbs. Chuffed to bits with that indeed And a 3rd in the Epsom Mile Maiden, SON OF A GUN. Makes it all worth while now. Congrats to all other winners and placers Hey mate really well done that is exceptional to do what you have done in your rookie season & a g1 place is something else mate snorbert ran a cracker

Re: Flat : Talk Reaction Banter
I love Meydan Emperor Jones 6th, got my milers wrong this season. Stop Day 3rd, needs to be closer to the pace. Carry on Katie 1st, wonderful front running performance. Ghostzapper 4th, not his course(same place as inhisglory) but his running style might be a problem. Queenledo 1st, daddy I out done u, I horse that got in because of that extra slot and it took three hours to come up with on that Friday. Only ever trialled in 8 races at meydan and was to be retired in the window so I'm going to have to run a few trial races to see if she can run on the grass if not that was her swan song And what can u say about old Drum Taps, on too the Gold Cup next.

Top job on the commentaries by the way. (I dont know who does them. Maybe somebody can enlighten me???) Great Scottish accent. Great to hear my horses being mentioned, especially in the closing stages, in the money.

Get this week out the way and I think the real season starts next week with grays improved schedule kicking in, lots more h'caps so more people winning races.

But still nice to get a winner in my 1st season.

1. Scallion - A surprising third. Benefited from a slow pace. If you take the time and scope out the pace of a race you can come up with some nice placings. He's not very good but was loving the slow pace and the dirt.
2. Spin Zone - Ran wide. Encountered trouble. Closer with a better trip. Surprising me with his ability.
5. Take Notice - Garrrrr!!! She needed a slower pace and got it BUT she also prefers to rate just off the leader. She inherited the lead which took just enough out of her in the final furlong. What a race and am pleased she ran like I thought she would.
9. Drinks Are On Me - Low weight and easy pace and affinity for the track allowed her to run a solid second. A toast though to Bermenstein for getting his first league winner!
-----------------------------
Each week when I have multiple choices to put in races I trial the horses (with my rejects) quickly at the course and conditions to find out which horse is better at that certain condition. It's with one of these trials that I found out Drinks Are On Me has an affinity for Epsom. Does anyone else do this? Helps to pick the right spots when you have a majority of subpar horses. I do that , its a good trick for all newbies to try. It makes sure the best horse goes to the races. I'll be doing it this season with my sprinters, I picked 4 sprinters this season because it was my strongest postion. I see u had some good races at Meydan, what's u derby horse and how did u jumpers do and what did u think of it.

Re: Flat : Talk Reaction Banter
just the 2 runners for me today. 1 good 1 bad. R9 Happy Ranger (3rd) - didn't get the clearest of runs early in the straight but wasn't good enough when he saw daylight anyway. it was still a good run though and I was very happy to see him place. R10 Scripture (19th) - drawn in the car park. held up in rear about 2l behind the pack on the inside, then jockey decides to go as wide as possible round tattenham corner well done all winners and placers.
